History

Villa Albergotti in 1825
The Albergotti Family purchased the estate in the late 1500's from the
Florentine Panzani family.
The Panzani family crest can still be found above the fireplace in the
living room on the first floor.
At the time, the house
had the traditional square Mediceo epoque structure: on the roof the
characteristic holding for pigeons and on the first floor the holding for
grain deposit.
In the 1600's, the
church was added to the estate. Another wing was later added onto the
Villa in the 1700's, modifyng the access entrance-ways of the estate.

The final restoration
occurred in the early 1900's with the construction of the covered terrace.
During the war the Villa
gave refuge to nuns of the St. Joseph Order, who were fleeing from Arezzo. Soon
after the war was over, the property was used to offer classes to the
local school children after their elelmentary school was bombarded and
destroyed.

The farm today
In 1984, in following
with our tradition of hospitality, we began
offering our guesthouses to tourists. At the time the Agritourism concept was still very new.
In 1994, the main Villa and
the sourranding properties underwent significant conservation restoration.
